SAINT PAULET DE CAISSON
Saint Paulet de Caisson is the village I lost my heart to, at my first visit in 1985. Little did I know that I would one day live here.”
In 2000 I moved to Saint Paulet the Caisson with my family. The village has a history of coal mining. For a village with only 1.800 inhabitants there’s a lot of commerce through the year. The village is situated at only 2 kilometres of the Ardeche region, the Golden Gate of the Provence, at the crossing of four departments: the Gard, the Ardeche, the Drôme and the Vaucluse.
You should pay a visit to the particular centre of Saint Paulet de Caisson with the chapel of Saint Agnes from the 12th century, the Chartreuse de Valbonne, an old Carthusian monastery (1201) and the old castle. At “Chez Charret” you can have a coffee or a drink under the sycamore trees or have a bite at “Le St. Paulet, café Nury”, a restaurant with traditional French cuisine. When you’re with children, go to Piboulette, a typical French outdoor restaurant where the little ones can play while you enjoy your dinner. Saint Paulet really has become my home.
